About me

My passion centers on the ways in which early relationships, life experiences and cultural contexts shape our worldviews and impact our choices, coping and performance. I also focus on the interplay between the mind and the physical body, and the ways we can use this connection to increase well-being and overall functioning. Over the past 18 years I have worked in various academic medical institutions and hospitals (UCLA, CHLA), using research-based interventions to guide individuals (children, youth and adults), couples, families, and teams in working towards agency and personal growth, positive change, insight, transformation, and adaptation to life events.

Style & Approach

I see the world through a systems and growth lens. I believe we all have an innate ability to develop, heal, and actualize ourselves. My passion is to collaborate with individuals, couples, families, and organizations, in their process of identifying and experiencing the changes needed for them to thrive. As a health and systems clinical psychologist I take an eco-system view, to explore ways in which the internal and situational systems can communicate, collaborate, and balance themselves to reach optimal functioning. I rely on the attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, emotion focused modalities and mindfulness to build a strong collaborative bond. By leveraging this bond and implementing various experiential talk therapy modalities, physical exercise modalities, and executive functioning training, and collaborating with other medical providers, I believe we can integrate our experiences, reach our potential, and enhance our performance.

I view therapy as a collaborative and creative process. We work together to construct a road map and specialized treatment goals that build upon each client’s natural tendencies for growth and fulfillment. Therapy becomes a safe place to explore, practice, experience, and develop new lenses and tools with which to interact with the world. We also focus on developing and mastering skills necessary to face and overcome obstacles and challenges.

Areas of Expertise

I specialize in providing experiential evidence-based therapeutic modalities to individuals, couples, dyads and families who seek support around mood-related issues (anxiety, depression), trauma, relational challenges, emotional regulation, adaptation to life events and life transitions. I rely on my expertise in physical training modalities (Pilates, CrossFit L-2, CrossFit L-1 and CrossFit kids, functional training, and archery) and in integration methods (Psychedelic Facilitator) to provide comprehensive, whole-body approaches to therapy and to lifestyle modification.

I complement my therapeutic and consultative skills with expertise in neurocognitive, psychosocial, educational, and therapeutic assessments. In the field of health psychology, I specialize in the areas of rehabilitation psychology, feeding and eating disorders, pain management, coping with acute and chronic medical conditions (e.g., diabetes, lupus, fibromyalgia and more), infertility and perinatal mental health.
